Maybe try using Javascript?

I don't like using hide-whens on the web for exactly this reason. I prefer to use the onClick event of the checkbox/radio to set the style.visible attribute of the areas that should be shown or hidden to either "none" or inline". If it's a large group of fields just enclose them in a <div></div> block and set the attributes on that.

It's also a lot quicker than having to go backj to the server to reload every time a checkbox is changed.
